In an ambitious move to bolster Jamshedpur’s spiritual and tourist landscape, Minister Banna Gupta has unveiled plans to establish a special corridor along the Rivers’ Meet at Sonari, marking a significant stride towards enhancing the city’s appeal to visitors and devotees alike.

JAMSHEDPUR – The State Health Minister Banna Gupta has underscored his commitment to transforming the Swarnarekha Domuhani Ghat into a premier tourist attraction, drawing acclaim from both national and international visitors.

Minister Gupta has called on Jamshedpur’s citizens to actively participate in the upcoming Maha Aarti.

Set to illuminate the banks of the Swarnarekha River at Marine Drive with fireworks and a laser show on March 8.

As the event’s preparations reach their zenith, anticipation mounts for the participation of thousands, promising an unforgettable spiritual experience.

A 28-foot tall idol of Lord Shiva is poised to become the centerpiece of this year’s Maha Aarti.

Complemented by enchanting electrical light displays depicting various avatars of the deity.

For the first time, the ceremony will be graced by 21 priests from Banaras, who will conduct the Swarnarekha Aarti.

Key enhancements, including the construction of concrete steps for easier access to Domuhani Ghat and the erection of a temporary gallery for spectators, are set to augment the event’s accessibility and enjoyment.

Infrastructure and Participation Enhancements

The upcoming Maha Aarti ceremony on March 8 promises significant upgrades to the Domuhani Ghat.

With the construction of concrete stairs and a temporary audience gallery aimed at facilitating access and comfort for attendees.

"This year, we’ve made thoughtful additions to ensure that every participant enjoys the ceremony to the fullest," stated an event organizer.

In his address, Minister Gupta stressed the profound spiritual connection between the residents of Jamshedpur and the Swarnarekha River.

Underscoring the significance of the river in their religious and cultural fabric.

He articulated a vision for the Swarnarekha Domuhani Ghat’s evolution into a globally recognized tourist spot.

"The purification of our riverbanks through the Maha Aarti is not just a ritual, it’s a testament to our faith and a step towards conserving our sacred rivers," Gupta remarked.
