RANCHI – In a shocking event from Dumka, the sub-capital of Jharkhand, a Spanish woman was subjected to gang rape late Friday night.

The incident occurred in the Hansdiha police station area while the victim was on a bike tour with her husband. Superintendent of Police (SP) Pitambar Singh Kherwar immediately responded to the severity of the situation by arriving at the location late at night and detaining three individuals.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. The victim has been sent to Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital for examination.

The Incident

The Spanish woman and her husband were on a bike tour.

They planned to travel through Dumka towards Bhagalpur.

Late at night, they pitched a tent in a deserted area before reaching Hansdiha market.

A group of local youths approached them.

The youths then gang-raped the woman and physically assaulted her.

Response and Investigation

The victim was first admitted to Saraiyahat CHC.

She was later transferred to Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital for further examination.

SP Pitambar Singh Kherwar confirmed the incident but has not disclosed further details.

The police’s investigation is ongoing.

The detained individuals are currently being interrogated.
