Legacy Continues After Death: Sanjay Agarwal’s Eye Donation Enlightens Two Lives

Sanjay Agarwal’s posthumous eye donation illuminates two lives, epitomizing the adage, ‘Giving is living’, even in death. A true symbol of serving humanity in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – The legacy of 56-year-old Sanjay Kumar Agarwal from Jugsalai Shiva Residency continues even after his demise, as his eyes will bring light into the lives of two individuals.

On June 10th, with the cooperation of his younger brother Vijay Aggarwal and sister Nidhi Aggarwal, an eye donation was arranged at his residence in Jugsalai, under the initiative of Marwari Mahila Manch Jamshedpur.

The noble cause was facilitated by members of the Marwari Mahila Manch, Roshni Sanstha’s President Taru Gandhiji, Sita Joshi, and Ophthalmologist Dr. Ajay Gupta. Bina Aggarwal, President of Marwari Mahila Manch Jamshedpur, expressed gratitude towards Sanjay’s family, Roshni NGO, and Dr. Ajay Gupta for their roles in this virtuous act.

It’s notable that Sanjay Aggarwal was the brother-in-law of Mahila Manch member Vidya Aggarwal.

His sudden demise occurred on Saturday, 10th May, and his last rites were performed at Jugsalai Shiv Ghat.

This information was shared by Susheela Kheerwal of Marwari Mahila Manch, who also informed that the forum has been actively campaigning for eye donations for many years.

Despite being unable to conduct eye donations due to COVID-19 for the past two years, the forum is now back at work with great fervor.

This donation marks the second one in 2023.

She said that the forum’s motto, ‘Blood donation while alive, eye donation after death,’ reflects its commitment to enhancing lives, even post-mortem, and it continues to appeal to the community for more such generous acts.
