Tuhin Sinha Urges Health Minister Banna Gupta for Health Scheme Update
Call for Immediate Ayushman Bharat Implementation in Jharkhand
Tuhin A. Sinha appeals for the rapid enforcement of Ayushman Bharat’s HBS 2022 to aid impoverished cancer patients in Jharkhand.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tuhin A. Sinha, the BJP’s national spokesperson, has made a significant plea for the swift application of the Ayushman Bharat’s latest Health Benefit Scheme (HBS) in Jharkhand.
He addressed this urgent request to Banna Gupta, Jharkhand’s Health Minister.
Sinha’s letter, sent on February 29, emphasizes the critical situation at Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital (MTMH).
He visited MTMH on February 15, 2024, and discussed challenges with Dr. Sujata Mitra, the director.
MTMH is crucial for advanced cancer care in Jamshedpur and the surrounding regions.
Sinha noted the hindrance caused by the delayed implementation of Ayushman Bharat’s latest package.

The Health Benefit Package 2022, introduced in April 2022, offers improved financial and service benefits.
These enhancements include better coverage for cancer treatments and surgeries.
The scheme also facilitates simultaneous chemotherapy drug approvals and support for palliative care.
Sinha highlighted that nearly 70% of MTMH’s patients are below the poverty line and in dire need of financial assistance.
The absence of the updated Ayushman scheme in Jharkhand has left many without crucial support.
Sinha’s letter is a call to action for immediate relief for thousands of cancer patients across the state.
This initiative aims to enhance healthcare access for Jharkhand’s underprivileged cancer patients.
