JAMSHEDPUR – The Sri Lakshmi Narayan Temple, popularly known as Birla Temple, celebrates its first renovation anniversary today with special prayers and community festivities.

The worship ceremonies began at 9 AM on Monday morning. Vinod Pandey leads the religious proceedings with ten other priests. Moreover, the temple trust has organized elaborate arrangements for the occasion.

Saryu Roy, coordinator of the temple renovation trust, explained the significance. The temple renovation was completed exactly one year ago. Furthermore, all deities underwent consecration ceremonies during that period.

However, today’s program includes specific prayers for each deity. The priests will conduct dedicated worship for all installed gods. Additionally, different sacred texts will be recited before respective deities.

Durga Saptashati will be recited before Goddess Kali’s idol. Meanwhile, Rudrabhishek ceremony will be performed before Lord Shiva’s lingam. On the other hand, Vishnu Sahasranamam will be chanted before Lakshmi Narayan.

The Panchamukhi Hanumat Koti Stotra will be recited before Hanuman’s statue. Besides, Ganesha Atharvashirsha will be chanted before Lord Ganesha’s idol. These specialized prayers honor each deity appropriately.

The temple premises will maintain a spiritual atmosphere throughout the day. Devotees can participate in various religious activities. Moreover, the trust expects significant community participation in the celebrations.

The renovation work transformed the temple’s appearance and facilities. However, the spiritual essence remains unchanged from its original form. Furthermore, the trust worked extensively to preserve traditional architectural elements.

Community members contributed generously to the renovation project. The trust coordinated with local artisans and skilled craftsmen. Additionally, modern safety features were incorporated without compromising aesthetic appeal.

Evening prasad distribution will conclude the day’s celebrations. The trust has prepared traditional offerings for all attendees. Moreover, the community feast will strengthen social bonds among devotees.
