YUVA and Girls First Fund Collaborate to Combat Child Marriage

JAMSHEDPUR – In a concerted effort to combat child marriage, Youth Unity for Voluntary Action (YUVA), in collaboration with the Girls First Fund, hosted a significant workshop.

The event aimed to deepen the understanding of child marriage’s impact and explore strategies for its prevention.

Block Education Officer Vinay Kumar Dubey and YUVA Secretary Barnali Chakraborty led the session, engaging educators from 31 local schools.

Resource expert Ajay Kumar from Pratigya Sanstha, Ranchi, shared invaluable insights on the subject.

Under the guidance of Project Coordinator Jyoti Hembram, participants examined the complex nature of child marriage, its underlying causes, and its far-reaching effects.

The workshop underscored the importance of gender perspectives in addressing this issue.

Legal frameworks and social implications of child marriage were thoroughly discussed.

A notable part of the discussion was the linkage between human trafficking and child marriage, identifying it as a critical concern.

The dialogue extended to the primary and societal impacts of child marriage, aiming to equip attendees with the knowledge to effect change.
