Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha’s campaign in Jamshedpur aims to educate women on pension benefits before Lok Sabha election code.
JAMSHEDPUR – Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha has initiated a pension awareness campaign in Jamshedpur, employing two three-wheelers equipped with posters and microphones to inform women aged 50 to 59 about widow and old age pensions.
This initiative, dubbed the Pension Jagrukta Rath, was flagged off on Tuesday and will navigate the city until February 22nd.
During the launch, MLA Saryu Roy motivated party workers to commit fully to the campaign for the next three days, aiming for widespread awareness of the pension scheme.
He detailed plans for organizing pension awareness camps throughout Jamshedpur on February 21st and 22nd, targeting Mandal Presidents and workers to facilitate these camps.
In a concerted effort to expedite the pension application process, Saryu Roy engaged with the Circle Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur.
He informed them of the pension applications collected and stressed the importance of swift approval.
The Circle Officer has committed to processing approvals within three days, ensuring timely notification of beneficiaries.
The campaign’s outreach was marked by a significant event at Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy’s office in Baridih, where a day-long camp saw the distribution and submission of pension forms.
Approximately 250 women acquired the forms, with 70 completing and submitting them on the spot.
Required documentation for the pension application includes two photographs, voter ID, Aadhar card, and a bank passbook.
Jharkhand’s government has allocated February 20th to 22nd for the submission of pension forms by women in the targeted age bracket, with the distribution of pension certificates to follow promptly before the Lok Sabha elections’ code of conduct comes into effect.
Manoj Singh Ujjain, the District General Secretary, along with community members, participated in this pivotal event, demonstrating the community’s support for the initiative.
