Jamshedpur: During the B.Ed, M.Ed and B.P.Ed joint entrance competitive examination, a ruckus broke out at the Graduate College Examination Center in the city on Sunday when many candidates were stopped from appearing in the examination. Angered by this, students demonstrated outside the center and accused the examination management of negligence. Some candidates also tried to enter the campus by jumping the gate.
According to the information, the reporting time for the exam was scheduled at 10:15 am, while the exam was to start at 10:30 am. The candidates say that they had reached the college premises before the commencement of the examination, but due to delay in document verification and other formalities at the entrance, they were not allowed inside on time.
The students alleged that the personnel posted at the gate asked them to wait, due to which precious time was wasted. According to the candidates, some students were hurriedly allowed entry a few minutes before the commencement of the examination, while many other candidates were stopped outside. There was anger among the students regarding this.
The protesting students said that when some candidates were allowed entry at the last moment, then why were they deprived of taking the examination. During the demonstration, some students climbed the main gate of the college and started demanding inclusion in the examination.
The candidates say that even though they arrived a few minutes late from the reporting time, they were present at the center before the commencement of the examination. Despite this, he was not allowed to enter the examination hall, due to which one of his academic years could be affected.
Many candidates, including students Priya Singh, Hajra Khatoon, Jiyaswari Das and Jyoti, alleged that they were deprived of the examination on the basis of minor delay. He said that despite reaching the center before the commencement of the examination, he was not given a chance, which is injustice to him. At the same time, the students have demanded investigation into the matter and appropriate action and justice to the affected candidates.
