Opportunity to apply from June 2 to June 6; Aadhaar authentication mandatory
Students include more than one subject and errors in a single application
Jamshedpur/New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched an online portal for Class 12 students who are not satisfied with the evaluation of their answer sheets and want to apply for re-evaluation or verification of errors in the scanned answer sheet. The board has made Aadhaar based authentication mandatory to make this process more secure and transparent.
With this decision of CBSE, thousands of students across the country including Jamshedpur, West Singhbhum and Seraikela have heaved a sigh of relief. This step has been taken amid evaluation glitches and technical glitches in the ‘On-Screen Marking’ (OSM) system.
According to the notification issued by CBSE, this portal will be open from June 2 to June 6 till midnight. During this period, those students who have already received the scanned copy of their evaluated answer sheets will be able to apply.
Aadhaar verification mandatory
To login to the portal, students will have to complete Aadhaar authentication through their CBSE account. If a student does not have his own Aadhaar card, he can use the Aadhaar details of a parent, guardian or a close relative.
The board has clarified that the name, date of birth and gender entered during authentication should exactly match the information on the Aadhaar card used. The entire process of application and fee payment will be online only. Offline applications will not be accepted and any request received after June 6 will not be considered.
In what cases can you request verification?
Students can apply for checking of following errors in the scanned answer sheet-
- missing page
- Absence of supplementary sheet
- Blurring of scan copy
- Missing map or graph
- Incorrect answer sheet uploading
- Evaluation based on wrong question paper set
Take special care during application
CBSE has warned students that no changes will be possible in the application after choosing the ‘Freeze and Proceed to Payment’ option. The application will be considered valid only when the online payment is completed successfully.
Fees and Application Rules
- Answer Sheet Verification Fee: ₹100 per answer sheet
- Revaluation Fee: ₹25 per question
- Payment Options: UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking
The board has clarified that each student will be allowed to apply for revaluation only once. Therefore requests related to all topics and questions have to be submitted together before final submission.
Technical problems as soon as the portal starts
Shortly after the portal was launched, many students complained of technical issues on social media platform X. Students mentioned problems like login issues, slow website operation, payment errors and the site crashing temporarily.
These technical glitches have caused increased anxiety among students and parents, especially given the limited application deadline. Many students have demanded the board to extend the application last date if the problems continue.
However, CBSE has appealed to the students to complete the application within the stipulated time and said that all the terms and conditions issued earlier related to verification and revaluation will remain in force.
