Union Position Secured in Closely Contested Tata Motors Old Canteen Election

Hardeep Singh triumphs in the Tata Motors Workers Union by-election, marking a significant victory in Jamshedpur’s industrial sector.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a closely watched union by-election at Tata Motors Old Canteen, Jamshedpur, Hardeep Singh emerged victorious, securing his position against competitor Amit Kumar Sinha.

The election, part of the Tata Motors Workers Union (TMWU) scheduled activities, saw active participation with 135 votes cast in a secret ballot under the constituency number TMLDU/050/(2022-24).

With 134 votes counted as valid and one vote discarded, Singh clinched the win with a total of 78 votes, outpacing Sinha’s 56 votes, in a testament to the democratic process within the industrial community.

The electoral process was overseen by a dedicated Election Steering Committee, including representatives from INTUC and notable committee members, ensuring a fair and transparent outcome.

Following the announcement, TMWU’s President Gurmeet Singh and General Secretary RK Singh congratulated Hardeep Singh on his victory, reflecting the union’s commitment to representing its members effectively.

This election outcome not only underscores the vibrant democratic traditions within Tata Motors‘ workforce but also highlights the active engagement and representation sought by its members in the union’s governance.
