Eight-Year-Old Girl Injured as Tempo Hits House Wall

JAMSHEDPUR – A nine-month-old child died after a wall collapse in Parsudih, while his sister was seriously injured.
The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Barigoda Devgam Tola. The victim, Ashish Karuwa, was playing with his eight-year-old sister, Laxita, when the tragedy happened.
Meanwhile, a goods tempo delivering cement at Tunnu Jaswal’s house reversed and struck a wall. The wall collapsed, burying both children under debris.
Family members rushed them to Tata Motors Hospital. However, doctors declared Ashish dead. Laxita’s leg was fractured in the mishap.
At the time, their father, Sukhram Karuwa, was at work with Lafarge as a contract laborer. Their mother was bathing, while Sukhram’s wife was inside the house.
According to relatives, stones and gravel were piled up on the narrow road, making traffic difficult. They alleged that the driver forcibly reversed the tempo and hit the wall.
As a result, Ashish died instantly. Locals said, “The road is too narrow, and the vehicle was handled carelessly.”
Soon after, Parsudih police reached the spot. They seized the tempo and detained the driver. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
Tragically, Ashish was the only son after three daughters. The accident has plunged the entire neighborhood into grief.
