Karim City College Hosts SDG Workshop
Mass Communication Students Learn UN Goals for Global Peace
Karim City College’s initiative educates students on global citizenship and the importance of achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for a harmonious society.
JAMSHEDPUR – Dr. Neha Tiwari, in her opening remarks at Karim City College, highlighted the significance of workshops in fostering a comprehensive grasp of worldwide challenges among students.
Their proactive involvement was noteworthy, demonstrating a dedication to becoming knowledgeable and accountable individuals.
Dr. Mohammad Riaz, the College Principal, praised the Mass Communication Department for the workshop’s success.
Students were tasked by Dr. Neha Tiwari with crafting a single-page newspaper for subsequent evaluation, aiming to apply their learning in a practical context.
A DNA film was showcased to underline the unified biological foundation of all humans, reinforcing the shared journey towards global harmony.
By taking on the perspectives of various societal members, students delved into the realities faced by different demographics, enhancing their empathy and understanding.
Students, working in groups, zealously debated vital topics like education, health, poverty, justice, and gender equality, demonstrating their engagement and critical thinking.
The session fostered lively discussions, with students actively questioning and exploring the SDGs’ various facets.
Tarun Kumar of Nishchay emphasized the importance of recognizing societal divides based on religion, caste, and class, urging a collective movement towards inclusivity.
He introduced the group of over 40 Mass Communication students to the comprehensive agenda of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The collaborative event with Nishchay and Rubaru sought to enlighten students on the essence of unity and cooperation across India for the attainment of global objectives of joy and tranquility.
