ED Concludes 12-Hour Search at CM Hemant Soren’s Delhi Residence

Enforcement Directorate’s Raid on CM Soren’s Delhi Home Yields Key Documents

The Enforcement Directorate concluded a 12-hour search at the Delhi residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, seizing crucial documents amid ongoing money laundering investigations.

DESK – Following a prolonged 12-hour search at Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s residence in Delhi, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team left with several important documents related to a money laundering case.

Soren, not present at his South Delhi home during the raid, had been issuED a summons by the ED for interrogation in a land scam case.

Despite the Chief Minister’s absence, the ED conducted a thorough search, marking their 10th summons to Soren, requesting his presence between January 29 and 31.

In a parallel move, ED officials also visited Jharkhand Bhawan in search of Soren but found him absent.

Responding to the summons, Soren communicated via email his availability for questioning on January 31.

Speculations about the Chief Minister’s whereabouts intensified, as his special plane had not returned to Ranchi Airport, and the airport management remained unaware of its arrival.

JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya reassured that Soren was in contact with the party, amid rumors that he might return to Ranchi via normal plane or road before the scheduled questioning.

Political unrest escalated in Delhi and Ranchi, with ministers and MLAs gathering at Soren’s Ranchi residence for a meeting amidst the ED’s search operations.

Prominent political figures, including ministers Baby Devi, Mithilesh Thakur, and MLAs Mathura Mahato and Stephen Marandi, convened at the CM’s residence to discuss future strategies.

The ED’s search in Delhi coincided with a turbulent day in Jharkhand, with Soren’s sudden departure to Delhi the previous day fueling further speculation.

Following the raid, a complaint against the ED was filed by the CMO, and MLAs began arriving at the CM’s residence in Ranchi, signaling a crucial juncture in the state’s political landscape.
