Jharkhand Governor Dismisses ED Action Backlash Possibility
Governor Radhakrishnan Defends ED, Says No reason for Public Anger in Jharkhand
Governor CP Radhakrishnan defends ED’s actions in Jharkhand, stating no law and order issue arises, while JMM spokesperson expresses public discontent.
RANCHI – Jharkhand’s Governor, CP Radhakrishnan, in response to recent state developments, has questioned the rationale for saying there is a possibility of public unrest related to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) actions.
He emphasized that no law and order disturbance arises from the ED’s investigation, asserting that Chief Minister Hemant Soren must respond appropriately to the agency’s inquiries.
Radhakrishnan maintained that everyone, including public leaders, is accountable under the law and must answer to investigative agencies, referencing PM Narendra Modi’s compliance with investigations.
In contrast, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson expressed concerns over the ED’s actions, citing growing public anger in the state.
JMM General Secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya criticized the ED’s operations, warning of potential serious consequences if the public’s warnings are ignored.
He accused the ED of political motivation and questioned the lack of transparency in their raids and detentions, drawing parallels with actions in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
Bhattacharya argued that the state government is being unfairly targeted and called for clarity on ED’s findings and the publicization of its operations.
The ongoing confrontation between the state government and ED highlights a complex political scenario in Jharkhand, with the Governor and JMM offering starkly differing perspectives on the situation.
