Tragic Bike-Tanker Collision in Giridih Leads to Fatalities

In a grievous incident in Giridih, two youths lost their lives in a collision with a gas tanker.

JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic road accident occurred in Giridih, resulting in the death of two young bike riders after a collision with a gas tanker.

The incident took place near GT Road Santurapi, within the jurisdiction of Bagodar police station.

The victims, identified as Ajay Kumar and Sann Kumar from Bhandar Tola, Dondlo, were intermediate students.

They were en route to the Surajkund fair in Barkattha block when the accident happened.

Following the incident, Bagodar police promptly arrived at the scene, transferring the bodies to Bagodar CHC for post-mortem.

Notable figures, including Bagodar MLA Vinod Kumar Singh, former MLA Nagendra Mahato, and others, were present at the site.

MLA Singh, expressing his sorrow, pointed out that both youths were fatally hit by the gas tanker.

He attributed the accident partly to negligence in road repair and has called for speedy completion of the repairs by the NHAI.

Singh also demanded compensation for the victims’ families from the construction company involved.

The tanker driver, having fled the scene, is currently at large, but the police have seized the vehicle as part of their investigation.
