AC Installation Mishap in Jamshedpur Claims Life, Sparks Safety Debate
A tragic AC installation accident in Jamshedpur’s Bistupur Bhadani Trade Center results in the death of 30-year-old worker Mohd. Aftab Khan, highlighting critical safety lapses.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Bistupur police station became the focal point of a distressing situation following the fatal accident involving Mohd. Aftab Khan.
Khan’s family, distressed and seeking justice, converged at the station.
They alleged negligence on the part of the building owner, insisting on rightful compensation for their loss.
Aftab, the family’s main support, leaves behind an elderly father and three siblings, highlighting the dire financial situation they now face.
In response to these tragic circumstances, negotiations were underway late into the evening at the police station, aiming to reach a settlement regarding the compensation.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was held in TMH’s Mortuary, with a post-mortem examination scheduled for the following day, Sunday.
Earlier, Aftab was rushed to TMH in a critical state, where he was pronounced dead by the doctors.
His fall was attributed to a weak mesh installed for the air conditioner’s setup.
According to Prakash Kumar, a colleague of Aftab, they were tasked with installing four air conditioners by the building owner.
This assignment turned tragic when Aftab, working without a safety belt, fell from the third floor.
Aftab Khan, a 30-year-old mechanic from Kitadih Masjid, met his untimely demise in this unfortunate event at Jamshedpur’s Bistupur Bhadani Trade Center.
