Hemant Soren Directs Relief Measures for Farmers in Drought-Affected Areas
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren calls for immediate relief to drought-stricken farmers, including financial aid.
RANCHI – Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken decisive action to aid farmers impacted by the drought in India.
Soren has ordered the provision of immediate relief to the affected agriculturalists.
He proposed an ex-gratia payment of Rs 3500 for each farmer facing hardships due to the drought.
Additionally, an input grant is to be provided for those whose crops suffered damage of up to 33% owing to scanty rainfall.
The State Disaster Management Authority has identified 156 blocks across 17 districts as drought-hit zones.
In response, CM Soren has instructed the Disaster Management Department to draft a proposal for central assistance.
This move is aimed at offering substantial support to farmers grappling with the adverse effects of the drought.
Soren’s directive highlights the state government’s commitment to mitigating the plight of farmers during this challenging period.
