JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Workers Union, a pivotal labour entity in Jamshedpur, is abuzz with election preparations, as the committee members of Tata Steel Engineering Services extend their support to President Sanjeev Chaudhary Tunnu’s team.
This backing includes endorsements from influential figures like JDC Chairman Mahendra Singh, Vijay Singh, and Bijendra Kumar Shah, signifying a potential shift in the election dynamics.
In the absence of any contenders for the Treasurer post, current Assistant Secretary Ajay Chaudhary steps up as the candidate, signaling strategic realignments within the union.
The role of General Secretary sees a compelling contest, with current Treasurer Harishankar Singh challenging incumbent Satish Singh.
The Deputy President position is hotly contested, with RC Jha and Arvind Pandey, a previous Presidential contender, vying against Shailesh Singh.
Pandey’s decision to run for Deputy President, shifting from his earlier Presidential bid, adds an intriguing twist to the election narrative.
The Presidential post remains uncontested as of now, with no apparent challengers stepping forward, raising the possibility of an unopposed election.
This comes against the backdrop of heightened speculation about the election outcomes and strategic positioning within the union.
Key union leaders, including General Secretary Satish Singh and Deputy President Shailesh Singh, alongside Union President Sanjeev Chaudhary Tunnu, are set to convene a joint meeting to finalize the election dates for the election officer and six committee members.
This development follows the confirmation of a crucial committee meeting on Saturday, marking a significant step in the union’s electoral process.
