Ramotsav Holiday Push by BJP Leader in Jharkhand

Ankit Anand Urges Jharkhand to Declare Ramotsav Holiday in Schools

Jharkhand BJP leader Ankit Anand demands a holiday for schools and colleges on Ramotsav, highlighting the historic significance of Shri Ramlala’s idol consecration.

JAMSHEDPUR – Former Jamshedpur BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand has urged the Jharkhand government and private educational institutions to declare a holiday on January 22, marking Ramotsav.

This appeal aligns with the upcoming consecration of Shri Ramlala’s new Murti in Ayodhya, an event Anand deems a national festival.

Anand’s request, conveyed through a tweet to the Jharkhand government, emphasizes the cultural and historical importance of this day.

He reasons that the event, symbolizing Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after centuries, merits nationwide celebration.

Anand highlights the joyous preparations across India, with people adorning homes and temples for the occasion.

He argues that a holiday would honor the religious sentiments of students with Sanatan beliefs, as protected under the Indian Constitution.

The specific timing for the idol’s consecration, set between 12:29 and 12:30 on January 22, further underscores the event’s significance.

Anand’s demand mirrors Uttar Pradesh’s decision to declare a holiday, advocating for a similar acknowledgment in Jharkhand.

The BJP leader’s appeal extends to private school authorities in Jamshedpur, encouraging them to independently recognize the occasion.

With schools and colleges currently scheduled to remain open, Anand expresses concern about the community missing the live event.
