Congress Gears Up for 2024 Elections, Constitutes Committees in 8 States

Congress Party establishes election committees for 8 states and forms a Political Affairs Committee for Madhya Pradesh for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

NEW DELHI – The Congress Party, in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has formed election committees in eight states, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Himachal Pradesh.

This move is part of their strategy to secure more seats in the upcoming elections.

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the formation of these committees, signaling a significant organizational push.

The committees have been formed for states such as Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura.

In addition, a Political Affairs Committee has been announced specifically for Madhya Pradesh.
Key appointments include Revanth Reddy as chairman of Telangana’s State Election Committee and Jitu Patwari and Govind Singh Dotasara leading the committees in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, respectively.

The Rajasthan committee comprises prominent figures like former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former cabinet ministers Sachin Pilot and Jitendra Singh.

Members of the Rajasthan Election Committee include influential leaders such as Mahendrajit Singh Malviya, Mohan Prakash, and CP Joshi.

Congress has also established an election war room, divided into organizational and communication sections.

Shashikant Senthil leads the Organizational War Room, with four vice chairmen appointed, including Gokul Butail and Naveen Sharma.

This comprehensive preparation reflects the party’s concerted effort to strengthen its electoral position across various states.
