JAMSHEDPUR – Years of persistent local advocacy have finally paid off with the Neelanchal Express now making scheduled stops at Jhargram station.

This decision, effective from January 5, marks a significant step in addressing the transportation needs of the region.

The South Eastern Railway’s move to include Jhargram in the Neelanchal Express’s route responds to the longstanding demands of the local populace.

Additional plans are underway to introduce similar stops at various stations along the Howrah-Mumbai route, including Chakradharpur and Purulia.

These developments are part of a broader initiative to enhance rail connectivity in the region.

The East Coast Railway is also considering introducing stops for the Purushottam Express in Barabhum and the Swarnarekha Express in Santaldih.
