Passenger’s jewelry worth lakhs stolen on Tata-Ara Express; Tatanagar Railway Police initiates investigation.
JAMSHEDPUR – Ganesh Lal Sinha, a resident of Burmamines Carriage Colony, faced a significant loss as jewelry worth lakhs was stolen while traveling on the Tata-Ara Express.
The incident, which occurred on December 5, 2023, came to light when the train reached Gamharia, where Sinha noticed the theft.
After reaching his destination at Jasidih station, Sinha reported the theft to the railway police.
Jasidih Railway Station transferred the case to Tatanagar Railway Station, where local police have begun further investigations.
Ganesh Lal Sinha, traveling with his family, discovered the theft of gold and silver jewelry from his trolley bag during the journey.
The stolen items included a gold necklace, a pair of gold earrings, and a silver waistband.
Due to the ongoing train journey, Sinha was unable to report the incident immediately and waited until reaching his destination.
This case underscores the challenges of ensuring the safety of passengers’ belongings on train journeys and highlights the need for heightened security measures.
