Yellow Alert in Parts of Jharkhand for Rain, Thunderstorms

Meteorological Department forecasts rain and thunderstorms across north-western areas of Jharkhand, impacting temperatures.

RANCHI – The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi Center, has issued a yellow alert, warning of rain and thunderstorms in parts of Jharkhand.

Chief of the Meteorological Center Ranchi, Abhishek Anand, announced the likelihood of light rain in the north-western regions, including Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Latehar, and Lohardaga districts on January 4, accompanied by thunderstorms.

January 5 is expected to bring thunderstorms in both the north-western and central parts of the state, affecting areas such as the Palamu division, Chatra, Koderma, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, and Ramgarh districts.

Additionally, the minimum temperature in Jharkhand is forecasted to rise by 2 to 4 degrees over the next few days, stabilizing afterwards.

While light rain and thundershowers are predicted for January 4 and 5, the weather is expected to clear up from January 7 onwards, with light to moderate fog in the mornings and dry conditions during the day.

Fog or mist may continue in the mornings of January 8 and 9, under partly cloudy skies, but no rainfall is anticipated.

In Ranchi, cloudy conditions are expected from January 4, with light rain possible on January 5 and 6.

Temperatures in Ranchi are forecasted to remain stable, with a slight drop in maximum temperature on January 6.

Jamshedpur, meanwhile, recorded a minimum temperature of 11.8°C and a maximum of 26°C on January 3.

Forecasts indicate no significant rain for Jamshedpur in the coming days, although neighboring regions may experience rainfall.
