JAMSHEDPUR – A completed water supply tank at Hurulung in Birsanagar area has become a safety hazard due to departmental negligence.

The water tank construction was finished under Jal Jeevan Yojana. However, bamboo scaffolding used during construction remains unremoved. Moreover, the bamboo structure has started rotting completely.

Local residents live in constant fear of accidents. Furthermore, the deteriorating bamboo falls during strong winds. Meanwhile, this creates injury risks for people nearby.

The project falls under Jugsalai assembly constituency’s water supply scheme. Besides, authorities completed the tank construction work successfully. However, water supply from the facility has not started yet.

Department officials failed to remove bamboo scaffolding after work completion. In addition, this negligence has created dangerous conditions for everyone. Moreover, rotting bamboo pieces break and fall frequently.

The water tank stands beside a road connecting Telco to NH-33. Furthermore, this route experiences regular vehicle traffic throughout the day. Meanwhile, falling bamboo could damage passing vehicles and cause accidents.

Residents express serious concerns about the hazardous situation. However, no action has been taken despite safety risks. In addition, the fear atmosphere persists in the neighborhood.

Traffic safety experts worry about potential vehicle accidents from debris. Moreover, the busy road sees constant movement of cars and trucks. Besides, any falling bamboo could cause serious road mishaps.

Local people demand immediate removal of the rotting scaffolding structure. However, department response remains delayed despite mounting pressure. Meanwhile, the safety threat continues to grow daily.
