Auction of Dawood Ibrahim’s Mumbai and Ratnagiri Properties Set

Global Terrorist Dawood’s Assets to be Auctioned in January 2024

Properties of fugitive Dawood Ibrahim in Mumbai and Ratnagiri will be auctioned on January 5, 2024, under the SAFEMA Act.

MUMBAI – The Free Press Journal has reported that the Indian authorities are set to auction properties belonging to globally designated fugitive terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.

Scheduled for January 5, 2024, the auction will include assets in Mumbai and Ratnagiri.

These properties were seized under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act (SAFEMA).

The assets in Ratnagiri, located in Khed Taluka, comprise bungalows and mango plantations.

This auction is part of a broader crackdown on Dawood Ibrahim’s financial networks and assets.

Previously, the authorities successfully auctioned several of Dawood Ibrahim’s family-linked properties.

A restaurant went for 4.53 crore, six flats fetched 3.53 crore, and a guest house sold for 3.52 crore, demonstrating the substantial value of these assets.

In December 2020, Dawood Ibrahim’s properties in Ratnagiri, including two plots and a fuel station, were auctioned for 1.10 crore.

These properties, registered under his late sister Haseena Parkar’s name, highlight the extensive reach of Dawood’s assets.

An apartment in Nagpada, measuring 600 square feet, was auctioned for 1.80 crore in April 2019.

The SBUT purchased one of Dawood’s properties on Pakmodia Street in 2018 for 3.51 crore, significantly higher than the reserve price of 79.43 lakh.

These auctions, managed by SAFEMA officials, are part of a strategic effort to disrupt the financial base of Dawood Ibrahim and his network.
