JAMSHEDPUR – Train operations between Manoharpur and Chakradharpur stations on the Howrah-Mumbai main railway route have resumed.
Railway services were disrupted following an attack by CPI Maoist Naxalites late Thursday night.
The Naxalites targeted the railway line between Goilkera and Posaita, significantly affecting train movement.
Multiple trains, including the Utkal Express and the Porbandar Shalimar Express, were stranded at Manoharpur.
The Shalimar LTT Express and other key trains were halted at various stations like Goilkera and Rourkela.
Passengers experienced significant inconvenience due to the sudden halt in train services.
The attack was part of a Bharat Bandh called by the banned CPI Maoist group.
The Naxalites detonated an IED, severely damaging the railway track between Goilkera and Posaita.
Train No. 18030 Shalimar-Kurla Up Express was among those stopped as a precaution.
Railway authorities have now restored operations, ensuring the safety and smooth transit of passengers.
