Tatanagar Station Security Revamp on Track
Railway Police and RPF Join Forces to Enhance Tatanagar Security
A strategic meeting in January will focus on reinforcing security at Tatanagar Station, with emphasis on CCTV installation and personnel deployment.
JAMSHEDPUR – In an initiative to strengthen the security at Tatanagar station, a joint operation involving the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Police is set to commence.
A pivotal coordination meeting is scheduled for January to develop a robust security strategy for the station and its surroundings.
Railway Superintendent of Police (SP) Rishabh Jha has emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive security audit, focusing on the station’s entry points and parking areas.
Identifying and addressing any security gaps will be a key aspect of this strategy.
This will include installing new CCTV cameras and strategically placing personnel where they are most needed.
Efficient implementation of these security measures will be achieved through close collaboration with railway officials.
SP Jha highlighted the persistent issue of manpower shortages within the Railway Police, noting that despite repeated requests for enhanced security measures, there has been little action.
The situation at the foot bridge, which was temporarily closed following an incident but later reopened due to public demand, has become a concern.
It has become a hub for anti-social elements due to its lower usage, with some individuals even sleeping on the adjacent footpath, raising security concerns.
This collaboration between the RPF and Railway Police marks a significant step towards ensuring a safer and more secure environment at one of the region’s key transportation hubs.
