St Mary’s English High School in Jamshedpur commemorates its 80th anniversary with a memorable alumni reunion, emphasizing community service and social responsibility.
JAMSHEDPUR – St Mary’s English High School in Bistupur celebrated its 80th anniversary with a grand reunion of its alumni association, fostering a spirit of social responsibility among its former students.
The event, held at the school auditorium, saw alumni from across India and overseas gather to mark this milestone.
Educationist Lalita Shareen, the chief guest, inspired the alumni to embrace the Christmas spirit of sharing and giving, particularly towards the underprivileged.
Shareen, with her extensive experience in education including her tenure as the founding principal of Jamshedpur Public School and current roles at Mount Litera Zee School and AIWC Schools, emphasized the importance of giving back to society.
Father Vernon D’Souza, the school’s principal, reiterated the alumni association’s goal to contribute positively to society.
Guest of honor, social worker Bharat Singh, also encouraged the alumni to uphold their social responsibilities.
The reunion, which attracted over 100 former students, was a blend of nostalgia and celebration, with attendees reminiscing their school days.
The school honored current and former principals and teachers, acknowledging their contributions.
Alumni also enjoyed a picnic near Dimna Lake, with the celebration culminating in a series of musical and cultural programs on Sunday evening.
