National Energy Conservation Day Marked by Tata Steel’s Sustainable Efforts

On National Energy Conservation Day, Tata Steel demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency through a series of initiatives and the launch of "URJA," a comprehensive energy book.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s dedication to sustainability was showcased through the launch of “URJA,” an Energy Book that offers a detailed perspective on the energy scenarios globally, in India, and specifically at Tata Steel.

The book also charts a path towards carbon neutrality and provides practical energy-saving tips for everyday use.

In a bid to foster a culture of innovation, the company organized an online idea generation campaign named SANRAKSHAN, which witnessed active participation from its employees.

Over 100 ideas were submitted in the campaign, with the top four implementable ideas receiving recognition and awards.

The event also included insightful presentations from various technology providers on emerging energy conservation technologies.

These presentations highlighted potential areas for implementation and the benefits of these new technologies.

Departments like Shikhar25, Corporate Sustainability, and Shared Services contributed informative insights, emphasizing the critical importance of energy efficiency.

Rajiv Mangal, Vice President of Safety, Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel, graced the event and addressed the gathering.

He emphasized the sustainability challenges faced by steel plants and underscored the vital role of energy efficiency and renewable energy in addressing these challenges.

Tata Steel’s commitment to sustainable practices and achieving global benchmarks in energy conservation was a key highlight of the National Energy Conservation Day celebrations.
