RPF’s flying squad team successfully apprehended two members of the infamous Sansi Gang in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant breakthrough, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Tatanagar has arrested two members of the notorious Sansi Gang, known for targeting train passengers nationwide.

Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, Tatanagar RPF in-charge, revealed the development on Friday.

The gang’s involvement in several thefts at Tatanagar and nearby stations had been a cause of concern.

The arrests occurred near Adityapur station, where RPF personnel intercepted four individuals aboard the Ispat Express.

While two suspects evaded capture, Tinku alias Mota and Balwant alias Kala, both hailing from Haryana, were apprehended.

Their accomplices, Bittu Kumar and Anoop Singh, are still at large.

Recovered from the arrested duo were a keypad mobile, Rs 3,000 in cash, theft tools, and stolen jewelry valued at approximately Rs 3.5 lakh.

These arrests shed light on recent high-value thefts, including one involving jewelry worth lakhs from a woman traveling from Howrah to Tatanagar and another in Rourkela with a Rs 35 lakh haul.

Further investigations and interrogation are expected to reveal more about the gang’s operations and possibly lead to the recovery of more stolen goods.
