Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu Clarifies on IT Raid: Cash Linked to Liquor Firms

Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu addresses the media post Income Tax raid, clarifying the source of seized funds.

RANCHI – Following a substantial Income Tax raid on the properties of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu, the politician has come forward to address the media.

In his statement to ANI, Sahu expressed his distress over the recent developments.

He clarified that the large sums of money seized during the raids are linked to his liquor business, not to the Congress party or any political activities.

Sahu stressed that the recovered funds are related to his family’s business endeavors and assured full cooperation with the income tax authorities by providing a detailed financial account.

The Income Tax department’s raids, which spanned several locations associated with Sahu, led to the discovery of significant cash and jewelry holdings.

This incident has provoked a strong reaction from the BJP, which has not only criticized Sahu but also targeted the Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand.

BJP MLAs demonstrated outside the Jharkhand Assembly on the first day of the winter session, reflecting the political tensions stirred by the raid and its implications.
