Jharkhand High Court Eases Age Limit for Civil Judge Exam

High Court Offers Age Relaxation in Civil Judge Exam, Aids Older Candidates

The Jharkhand High Court’s decision to relax the age limit for candidates over 35 in the Civil Judge Junior Division Competitive Examination-2023 marks a significant move, ensuring inclusivity and fair chances for all applicants.

RANCHI – In a landmark ruling, the Jharkhand High Court has granted age relaxation for aspirants of the Civil Judge Junior Division Competitive Examination-2023.

This decision provides considerable relief to older candidates facing upper age limit issues.

The division bench, comprising Justice S Chandrashekhar and Justice Anubha Rawat Chaudhary, reached this decision after extensive deliberations on multiple petitions.

Advocates Saurabh Arun, Shrestha Gaitam, Rajesh Kumar, and Amit Kumar Sinha strongly represented the applicants’ interests.

The bench considered the perspectives of the applicants, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), and the state government.

As a result, the High Court has officially granted age relaxation to candidates aged 35 and above.

This ruling is aimed at creating a more inclusive and fair examination process.

The court specifically addressed the needs of candidates who registered online with JPSC but did not meet the standard age limit criteria.

With this decision, the age cut-off date is set as January 31, 2019.

This ruling reflects the High Court’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities in the state’s judicial examination processes.
