Maithon Power Lauded for Stellar Reactive Power Management
ERLDC Commends Maithon Power for Optimal Voltage Stability and Power Quality
Maithon Power Limited’s exceptional reactive power management earns accolades from the Eastern Region Load Dispatch Centre, enhancing grid stability and customer satisfaction in India’s eastern region.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a commendable display of technical prowess, Maithon Power Limited (MPL) has recently been recognized for its outstanding management of reactive power, crucial for maintaining voltage stability and optimal power quality.
MPL, a collaboration between Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of renewable energy sources like solar and wind into the Indian power grid.
The Maithon plant, with its 1,050 MW capacity, serves as a model in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) domain, using subcritical technology to provide vital energy to New Delhi, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Kerala.
This recognition is based on various performance indicators such as reactive power generation, absorption, and exchange, alongside the plant’s adherence to ERLDC guidelines and grid code.
Notably, on November 30, 2023, the Eastern Region Load Dispatch Centre (ERLDC), responsible for the integrated operation of the power system in India’s eastern region, officially acknowledged MPL’s achievements.
This commendation reflects MPL’s dedication to enhancing grid operations and customer satisfaction by delivering reliable, high-quality electrical power.
