East Singhbhum Ex-Servicemen Honor Navy Day with Cultural Programs and Quiz
All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council marks Navy Day with festivities and reminiscences of naval glory at Bhuiyandih Pritam Park.
JAMSHEDPUR – The All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council in East Singhbhum celebrated Navy Day with enthusiasm at the community hall in Bhuiyandih Pritam Park. The event was graced by Brigadier Ranvijay Singh, a retired Indian Army officer, as the guest of honor.
The celebration commenced with Ganesh Vandana followed by the cutting of a ceremonial key by ex-sailors, signifying the start of the program.
Children participated enthusiastically, performing dances to voluntary songs, adding a vibrant touch to the event.
The occasion saw the participation of retired officers and soldiers from all three wings of the Indian Armed Forces – the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
Sushil Kumar Singh delivered the welcome speech, with the program being adeptly conducted by Harendu Sharma.
A unique feature of the celebration was a quiz competition centered around naval life, designed especially for women, with participants being honored for correct answers.
The gathering was a platform for Marines to share their past experiences and for colleagues from the Army and Air Force to laud the Indian Navy’s strength and progress.
The event served as a reminder of the vital role the armed forces play in maintaining the country’s rapid pace of development through their vigilance on the borders.
Discussions highlighted how serving in the Indian Army fosters unity and discipline, crucial for progress in any field.
The 1971 war was a focal point of reminiscence, particularly the Indian Navy’s role in sinking Pakistani warships and forcing a surrender on 16 December 1971, leading to the celebration of 4th December as Navy Day.
Participants enjoyed an array of delicacies like Golgappa Papdi Chaat, Ice Cream, Saffron Milk, Chicken Fried Rice, Veg Rice, Chow Mein, and Tea, alongside dancing to patriotic songs played by a DJ.
The vote of thanks was given by District President Brij Kishore Singh and Dr. Kamal Shukla, the coordinator of the event.
Hundreds of men, military families, and members of the Jai Ho team, including Mahesh Joshi, Subhash Chandra Mahato, Malik Dilip Singh, and Ravi Shankar Singh, participated in the event, celebrating the valor and spirit of the Indian Navy.
