Cyclone Michaung Disrupts Train Services
Train Cancellations Across India Due to Cyclone and Developmental Work
Cyclone Michaung and railway development lead to train cancellations on 5th December.
JAMSHEDPUR – Several train services have been cancelled due to the impact of Cyclone Michaung and ongoing developmental work in the East Coast Railway. The affected services on 05.12.2023 are as follows:
1. 22643 Ernakulam – Patna Express: This train service will not operate due to the adverse weather conditions brought about by Cyclone Michaung.
2. 12664 Tiruchchirappalli – Howrah Express: Similarly impacted by Cyclone Michaung, this train service has also been cancelled.
3. 18047 Shalimar – Vasco Da Gama Express: The cancellation of this service is due to developmental work in the East Coast Railway, not related to the cyclone.
4. 22501 (SBC-NTSK): This train will be fully cancelled on 5th December 2023.
5. 12503 (SMVB-AGTL): Also scheduled for 5th December 2023, this train will not operate.
Railway officials said that these cancellations are a part of the necessary measures taken for passenger safety and to facilitate smooth railway operations during adverse weather conditions and essential developmental work.
Passengers are advised to check with the railways for updates and alternative arrangements. The impact of Cyclone Michaung has necessitated precautions across various sectors, with rail transport being significantly affected.
