The ISQ Annual Conference 2023 in Jamshedpur brings together experts and leaders to emphasize quality in manufacturing, with insightful talks and prestigious awards.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Indian Society for Quality (ISQ) Jamshedpur Chapter proudly hosted the esteemed ISQ Annual Conference 2023 at the United Club.
This significant event, for the first time held in Eastern India, celebrated the region’s industrial legacy and focused on elevating Indian manufacturing to a global quality benchmark.
The conference theme, “Building Indian Manufacturing a Hallmark of Quality in the World,” aimed to amalgamate global thought leaders in quality and manufacturing.
The event commenced with enriching seminars on November 30, featuring Mr. N Ramanathan and Mr. Anil Sachdev, along with Dr. Pankaj Kumar, discussing quality creation and TQM implementation.
Mr. Avneesh Gupta, Vice President of TQM at Tata Steel, and Chairperson of the ISQ Conference Program Committee, opened the conference on December 1st, underscoring the significance of quality in manufacturing.
ISQ President Mr. Janak Mehta’s keynote address delved into India’s role in global trade and manufacturing’s contribution to the GDP.
Mr. Soumitra Bhattacharya, Chairman & Director of Bosch Limited, emphasized quality as a global competitive cornerstone in his inaugural address.
The conference recognized exemplary contributions to quality with five prestigious awards, honoring Dr. Jairam Varadaraj, R. Mukundan, Arnab Banerjee, Dr. Prem Motwani, and Satyendra Kumar.
Mr. T. V. Narendran, CEO of Tata Steel Limited, as the chief guest at the awards night, highlighted the pivotal role of manufacturing in the current era.
The conference featured sessions on educational excellence and quality management in schools, with JH Tarapore School and Gulmohur High School sharing their journeys.
Day two of the conference explored the TQM principle for social impact, led by Mr. Sourav Roy, CEO of the Tata Steel Foundation.
Keynote addresses by Mr. R Mukundan and Mr. Ravindra Kulkarni followed, with a special panel discussion on attracting millennials to manufacturing.
The conference concluded with a summary by Mr. Subhrajit Basu and a vote of appreciation from Mr. Nishith Sinha.
The announcement for Pune to host the ISQ Annual Conference in 2024 was made by Mr. Parag Auty.
Participants also enjoyed industry visits to Tata Steel and Tata Motors, rounding off the three-day event.
