Father McGrath Memorial Debate to Showcase Top B-Schools
XLRI’s celebration of the Father McGrath Memorial Debate: MaggieSpeak finals in Bangalore marks a significant event in the Indian educational landscape. This prestigious debate, organized by the renowned XLRI class of 1987, has drawn participation from over 260 teams across 70 top business schools.
JAMSHEDPUR – The XLRI Alumni, responsible for organizing the event, will host the 4th Annual Fr. McGrath Memorial Debate in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
This event, previously held in New Delhi for three successful years, is now moving to the Bangalore International Centre on November 29, 2023.
The debate honors the legacy of Fr. E.H. McGrath, a founding member of XLRI, who passed away on August 4.
Fr. McGrath, affectionately known as Maggie, was instrumental in shaping XLRI into one of India’s premier business schools.
His book, Basic Managerial Skills, now in its ninth edition, has been a bestseller.
The debate’s format, following British parliamentary style, allows for a dynamic exchange of ideas on "AI and responsible leadership."
Qualified teams have progressed through video submissions, an online semi-final, and will now compete in the final round.
A panel of esteemed industry professionals will judge the teams.
XLRI’s participation in the finals is a testament to its enduring commitment to fostering intellectual discourse and debate.
