XLRI Hosts 4th Father McGrath Debate, Showcases Rhetorical Brilliance
XLRI’s MaggieSpeak Debate, a tribute to Father McGrath, ends with a resounding success at the Bangalore International Centre.
JAMSHEDPUR – XLRI recently marked the successful conclusion of the 4th Annual Father McGrath Debate, MaggieSpeak, a significant event in the academic calendar.
The debate, held on November 29th, 2023, at the Bangalore International Centre in Domlur, drew 260+ teams, demonstrating a high level of intellectual engagement and debate prowess.
The event was organized by the XLRI batch of 1987 and Team ExLink, showcasing their continued commitment to fostering a culture of intellectual rigor.
Rohan Bhardwaj and Daliya Thacker from XLRI Jamshedpur emerged as winners, a testament to their exceptional oratory and persuasive skills.
The runners-up, Aarushi Sharma and Vaishnavi Joshi from MDI Gurgaon, were also lauded for their remarkable debating ability.
Aarushi Sharma was recognized as the Best Speaker For the Motion, while Rohan Bhardwaj earned the title of the Best Speaker Against the Motion, adding to the event’s prestige.
This year’s MaggieSpeak served as a fitting homage to Father McGrath, one of XLRI’s founding fathers, celebrating his six-decade legacy at XLRI and his impact on students.
The debate’s focus on intellectual exploration and vibrant discussion honored Father McGrath’s passion for nurturing young minds.
