A 43-year-old man, identified as Mota Purti, was found dead in his house in Kendposi Tola, Badbil village, Seraikela, sparking suspicion and investigation.

SERAIKELA – In a shocking incident, a 43-year-old man, Mota Purti, was found dead and hanging with a saree in his house in Kendposi Tola of Barbil village under Seraikela police station area on Tuesday morning.

Blood was found dripping from the neck of the deceased.

Upon receiving information, the police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem.

The circumstances surrounding the death are raising suspicions.

Family members reported that Purti had mental health issues.

He had behaved aggressively towards his wife and daughter on Monday night, prompting them to spend the night elsewhere.

On Tuesday morning, after a disturbing conversation with his younger brother, Purti was found hanging, with significant bleeding from his neck.

The family suspects that Purti attempted to slit his throat before hanging himself.

He was brought down from the noose by villagers, but was already deceased.

Seraikela police, led by in-charge Arjun Oraon, took charge of the body, conducted a Panchnama, and commenced a post-mortem examination.

The police are treating the death as suspicious due to the external lock on the house and the neck wound.

The determination of whether this was a suicide or murder awaits the post-mortem report, but the police are actively investigating the case.
