Armed criminals rob approximately Rs 20 lakh from Indian Bank branch in Hansdiha main market.
DUMKA – Five armed criminals looted an Indian Bank branch in the Hansdiha main market on Thursday afternoon, making off with an estimated Rs 20 lakh.
The daring heist took place at the Indian Bank branch located in the Handiha police station area.
Situated in the Saraiyahat block near the Jharkhand-Bihar border, the bank is equidistant from Dumka, Deoghar, Godda, and Bihar’s Banka district.
The criminals arrived on motorcycles and stormed into the bank, holding the employees at gunpoint.
Terrified staff members were unable to resist as the robbers cleaned out the bank’s cash reserves.
Jarmundi SDPO Santosh Kumar and Hansdiha police promptly arrived at the scene to begin investigations.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from inside and outside the bank as part of their probe.
SDPO Santosh Kumar confirmed the involvement of five criminals in the robbery.
The exact amount stolen is yet to be determined, pending a thorough investigation.
Police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the criminals responsible for the brazen daylight robbery.
