Jugsalai Police Nab Duo for Burglary; Jewelery and Cash Seized

Jugsalai police have apprehended two suspects, a mother and son, in a theft case, recovering stolen items including jewelery and cash.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant breakthrough, the Jugsalai police have arrested Azhar Imam alias Pickpocket alias PM and his mother Naima Khatoon for a burglary at Anil Aggarwal’s residence, located near Bata Chowk. The police, acting on information provided by the accused, recovered all the stolen jewelery and Rs 29,990 in cash, along with other items.

SSP Kishore Kaushal, while disclosing the details on Sunday, informed that the theft took place on the evening of 19th November when Anil Aggarwal and his family were at Chhath Ghat. Azhar executed the theft during their absence. Prior to this incident, Azhar had also attempted to target another house near Kunwar Singh Chowk but was unsuccessful.

It was revealed that Azhar is involved in cases registered in eight police stations across the district and two in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

Following the theft, Azhar fled to Kolkata with the stolen items. The police, after continuous monitoring of CCTV footage in the vicinity, identified and located Azhar. A raid was conducted at his residence, and his mother Naima Khatoon was taken into custody for questioning. She revealed Azhar’s location in Kolkata, leading to his subsequent arrest.

The incident came to light when Anil Aggarwal’s mother discovered the broken door and the theft from the almirahs upon returning home from Chhath Puja. According to Aggarwal, the thieves stole jewelery worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 lakh in cash.

This arrest marks a significant success for the Jugsalai police in cracking down on local crime and ensuring the safety and security of residents’ belongings.
