RANCHI- A tragic road accident occurred in Baghmara, Giridih, on Saturday, resulting in the loss of five lives.

The incident involved a car colliding with a tree, causing significant casualties.

The injured individuals have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The victims were returning from a wedding ceremony when the accident took place.

Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi has expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

Marandi conveyed his condolences, stating, "Heart is saddened by the news of death of five people due to accident of a passenger vehicle in Giridih."

He extended prayers for the departed souls and offered his sympathies to the families of the deceased, wishing them strength in this difficult time.

That part of the route is particularly susceptible to road accidents, local media reported. Several road accidents were reported in that area.

The local media said that the accident highlighted the ongoing issues related to road safety and the need for effective measures to prevent such tragic incidents.

The accident caused quite a flutter in the area and the locals gathered at the site.

The local police reportedly are investigating the cause of the accident.

The locals have called for steps to curb speeding in the area and there are further calls for improved safety measures on roads to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
