JBKSS Protests Against Alleged Kadma Neel Sarovar Land Encroachment
JBKSS Members Rally Against Alleged Encroachment in Kadma’s Neel Sarovar
JBKSS alleges land encroachment at Neel Sarovar, Kadma, leading to a protest and police intervention.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhandi Bhasha Khatian Sangharsh Samiti (JBKSS) led a protest on Saturday in Kadma Ulyan, alleging encroachment of land surrounding Neel Sarovar.
The members, armed with traditional weapons and shouting slogans, gathered at the Samadhi site in Ulyan and marched towards Neel Sarovar.
Despite the presence of the police, who attempted to halt the protest, the demonstrators forcefully entered the area and continued their slogans.
JBKSS claims that the land in question is rightfully named after the late Ganesh Chandra Mahato, and a board should be installed at the site to reflect this.
Committee member Anup Mahato accused Minister Banna Gupta, Tata Steel, and other entities of forcibly occupying the lake’s land, which they deem inappropriate.
The protest drew significant police presence, including DSP CCR Animesh Gupta and officers from the Kadma Police Station, along with a QRT team.
They attempted to negotiate with the protesters, but to no avail.
Upon receiving news of the escalating situation, SDO Piyush Sinha arrived at the scene to engage with the committee members.
Despite roughly half an hour of discussions, no agreement was reached.
The SDM assured that the matter would be escalated to higher officials for further review.
This protest highlights the ongoing land disputes in the region and the community’s strong reactions to perceived injustices regarding land rights and usage.
