JAMSHEDPUR – The fervor of Girigovardhan Puja swept across various districts of Kolhan, with a significant turnout in Lupungdih, Seraikela.
Celebrated on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik, immediately following Diwali, this festival, also known as Annakoot, holds immense cultural and religious significance.
The day is dedicated to the worship of Giri Govardhan Mountain, Lord Shri Krishna, and Mother Cow.
Traditionally, devotees create representations of the Govardhan Mountain using cow dung in their courtyards and perform rituals in reverence.
A variety of dishes are prepared and offered to Lord Krishna as part of the celebration.
This year, the Giri Govardhan Puja temple complex in Lupungdih village, under the Nimdih block of the Ichagarh assembly constituency, witnessed an extraordinary gathering.
