JAMSHEDPUR – Dolly Parveen, named by police for her involvement in the brown sugar trade cases, was shot by her cousin in Adityapur.
She sustained a chest wound and is currently in a critical state at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).
The Muslim colony in Adityapur is noted as a hub for the large-scale brown sugar trade.
Following an earlier arrest, Dolly’s brother had allegedly taken the reins of the illicit business.
According to the police sources, Dolly’s recent release from jail had sparked a dispute with her cousin, allegedly leading to the shooting.
The altercation culminated on Sunday as Dolly was en route to the market.
Police are now at the scene, conducting investigations and gathering details of the incident.
