Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his government have lined up an ambitious set of announcements aimed at uplifting the welfare of Jharkhand’s populace. From groundbreaking housing schemes to advanced healthcare facilities, the state seems to be on the cusp of a transformative era.

Laying the Ground for Affordable Housing

The government has revealed the Abua Housing Scheme, a grandiose project aimed at providing permanent housing to 8 lakh poor residents of the state. To be built in three phases with an outlay of Rs 16,320 crore, the scheme will see the construction of 2 lakh houses in the fiscal year 2023-24 alone.

A Healthcare Milestone: Apollo Hospital

Adding a feather in Jharkhand’s cap is the laying of the foundation stone for Apollo Group’s multi-specialty hospital in Ranchi’s Smart City Area Based Development (ADB) zone. The 250-bed hospital will be spread over 2.75 acres and will offer an array of services including emergency, radiology, and pathology.

Bringing Government to Your Doorstep

The third phase of the Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar program is set for launch. This initiative aims at disseminating the government’s welfare schemes to the grassroots by organizing Panchayat-level camps. These camps will serve as a platform for the rapid resolution of local grievances.

Azim Premji University: A New Educational Frontier

In a potential educational boon for the state, an MOU between the Jharkhand Government and Azim Premji University is likely to be signed. The university promises to offer world-class educational facilities, right from technical to medical fields, all under one roof.

One Rupee Pulses for the Masses

The government is also considering the launch of a scheme that will provide 1 kg of pulses per family at the rate of just one rupee. This scheme aims to benefit 65 lakh families and has a budgetary provision of Rs 55 crore.

An Egg a Day for Anganwadi Children

The government may also introduce a scheme to provide eggs to children in Anganwadi centers five days a week, starting either in November or December. This nutritional boost aims to enhance the health and well-being of the children.
