Jamshedpur FC Gears Up for Punjab Clash, Scott Cooper Talks Strategy

Scott Cooper anticipates fierce battle with Punjab FC, shares insights on team performance and playing philosophy.

Jamshedpur FC aims to capitalize on its winning momentum as it prepares for a high-stakes match against Punjab FC at JRD Tata Sports Complex on October 22.

JAMSHEDPUR – Scott Cooper, the head coach of Jamshedpur FC, addressed the media ahead of the crucial fixture, outlining the balance his team sought during the international break.

"Rest is important, but we also needed to keep the intensity in training balanced to prevent injuries," said Cooper.

Commenting on the league standing, Cooper rejected the perception of Jamshedpur FC as the eighth-placed team.

"We could be in the top five by tonight, considering we’re level on points with four teams above us," Cooper explained.

On the topic of Punjab FC, the coach emphasized the respect and tactical approach his team will offer.

"Punjab FC is a team we won’t underestimate. They’ve been unlucky in recent matches, but they’re a strong side," he stated.

Cooper also teased the availability of Ritwik Das for the upcoming game.

"He’s ready to play. Whether he will be in the lineup is yet to be decided," he hinted.

When probed about his playing philosophy, Cooper stated that the core remains the same – exciting football combined with hard work.

"We may tweak a few things depending on the opposition, but the philosophy stays constant," he affirmed.

Discussing the unique qualities that foreign player Rei Tachikawa brings to the team, Cooper emphasized that it’s the blend of different talents that makes a successful squad.

"It’s like baking a cake; you need different ingredients. Rei brings his own set of skills, just like other players on the team," he concluded.
