Security Tightened, Social Media Vigilance Enhanced for Upcoming Durga Puja Festival

Jamshedpur’s district administration collaborates with religious leaders and law enforcement to ensure a peaceful Durga Puja celebration, warns against misleading social media posts.

JAMSHEDPUR – District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri convened a high-level meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium to discuss the maintenance of law and order during the upcoming Durga Puja festival.

Joining him were Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Kishore Kaushal, Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Mr. Piyush Sinha, and ADM Law and Order Mr. Deepu Kumar.

The meeting also included Pesh-e-Imam and Presidents of local mosques.

An appeal was made for collaborative efforts between the administration and community leaders to keep anti-social elements in check.

Bhajantri emphasized the need to prevent potential misuse of social media to avoid disrupting peace and urged immediate reporting of such instances to authorities.

He warned against forwarding misleading or incendiary information and reiterated that such acts would lead to legal consequences.

He said that the Cyber Cell has been tasked with monitoring social media for false information that could jeopardize communal harmony.

Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Kishore Kaushal called for vigilance around religious sites and urged the public to report any suspicious activities immediately.

Local leaders assured full cooperation and offered suggestions for police deployment, barricading, and other logistical arrangements.
