JAMSHEDPUR – The Baridih Transport Maidan is set to witness the worship of the tallest idol of Goddess Saraswati, standing at 31 feet, on Wednesday, February 14, as part of the festivities organized by the Sarvjanik Saraswati Puja Committee.
Little girls, donned in sarees, exhibited their excitement for the puja, adding charm to the tradition of honoring the Goddess of learning.
The puja, celebrated in colony pandals, educational institutions, and homes, underlines the cultural emphasis on learning and knowledge.
Fruit stalls and idol makers in the area have seen a significant influx of customers, undeterred by the weather, showcasing the community’s enthusiasm for the celebration.
The inauguration of the pandal on Tuesday by MLA Mangal Kalindi marked the beginning of the festivities, highlighting the community’s anticipation for the event.
This year’s celebration is notable for the introduction of the tallest idol of Goddess Saraswati ever worshiped at the site, setting a new record for the annual event.
