High Court Upholds Lower Court’s Decision, 22 Persons to be Prosecuted in Mango Minor Violation Case

22 persons to face trial in juvenile violation case in Mango, India; High Court sustains lower court’s ruling, defendants maintain innocence

JAMSHEDPUR – 22 persons, including Guddu Gupta, will face trials in relation to the alleged rape of a juvenile.

22 persons had appealed the lower court’s decision to name everyone as accused in the case at the High Court.

The High Court maintained the lower court’s ruling that everyone would go on trial.

On January 19, 2018, a FIR was filed in the Mango, India, case of a youngster being violated.

Guddu Gupta, Ajay Kerketta, and Imdad Ansari are among the 22 persons named in the victim’s mother’s suit to implicate 22 others.

The court granted the motion and mandated the prosecution of all 22 defendants.

The FIR was filed in January 2018 after the victim submitted an application to the Jamshedpur SSP in November.

When testifying in court, the victim described the occurrence and mentioned each of the defendants by name in the statement she gave following the FIR.

Although the court designated them an accused after two years, the accused insisted that they were not listed in the FIR or the victim’s testimony.
